August 2007 -- Pierce Promotions,  an experiential marketing agency based in Portland, Maine, was looking for a unique, awe-inspiring and utterly engaging interactive digital display solution to liven up their cross country promotional tour for Gillette’s Venus Breeze razor for women.

GestureTek had worked very successfully with Pierce Promotions on previous product tours, utilizing the GestureXtreme immersive interactive media system based on GestureTek’s patented camera-enabled gesture-based control technology.

For the Venus Breeze promotion, women’s real-time images were captured as they passed by and magically projected in real-time onto a dynamic interactive display.  Women were enthralled as they saw themselves immersed into the heart a soothing beach environment, complete with floating flowers, the Breeze logo and other special effects that women could control and manipulate simply by gesturing with their hands and body.

ScreenXtreme achieves such amazing effects by using GestureTek’s unique patented, camera-based technology that tracks, captures, and displays users’ movements in the proximity of the display screen.  Users' gestures manipulate graphics that encircle them on the screen. GestureTek can quickly apply advertisers' brands and product imagery to any of the company’s long list of standard templates, or develop customized immersive, interactive multi-media solutions to meet any client requirement.

Despite being one of several multi-media attractions on the promotional tour, the Venus Breeze installation enjoyed phenomenal public acclaim, and the ScreenXtreme system proved to be integral in capturing the public’s imagination and creating powerful brand engagement.
