GestureTek Mobile Wins NATPE Mobile ++ Top 12 Award for ‘hot’ mobile application

Company recognized for its popular gesture-controlled mobile gaming and navigation software

SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA – (Jan 7th, 2007) – GestureTek Inc. - the pioneer and world leader in computer vision technology and provider of state-of-the-art gesture-based interactive solutions for nearly twenty years – today announced that the company’s mobile business unit, GestureTek Mobile, has won a NATPE Mobile++ Top 12 Award for being one of the hottest mobile applications on the market.

NATPE Mobile++ is an international mobile content and technology conference dedicated to connecting all sides of today’s rapidly evolving mobile content marketplace.  The conference is affiliated with the NATPE Conference (National Association of Television Program Executives).  The NATPE Mobile++ Top 12 National Awards recognize innovation and excellence in gaming, social networking and other hot mobile applications.  As an award winner, GestureTek will share its insights into gesture-based mobile interfaces to over 800 digital content professionals on January 28th, 2008, at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

GestureTek’s EyeMobile Engine takes mobile gaming and navigation to new heights. This software-only solution uses the existing camera on a mobile device to deliver a gesture-based interface to mobile applications. An entertaining and intuitive alternative to conventional button interfaces, EyeMobile allows users to do anything they would normally do with their mobile device, such as play games, answer calls, make menu selections or scroll, pan and zoom in on photos, simply by shaking, rocking or rolling their device. With the EyeMobile Engine, handset manufacturers can offer all the benefits of gesture recognition technology without the expense and real-estate of adding specialized hardware.  The EyeMobile Engine application programming interface (API) also provides application developers with the means to integrate motion control into their applications, much as they do with current analog controls such as keys and buttons.

“This award win is a significant accomplishment for GestureTek Mobile, and further evidence that the company’s gesture-recognition software is taking the world by storm, both in the mobile marketplace and with manufacturers of other equipment such as consoles, pc’s and set top boxes,” says Bill Leckonby, CEO of GestureTek Inc.

In addition to NTT DoCoMo and Telefonica, GestureTek’s 2000+ clients include Fortune 500 companies
such as Cingular/AT&T, Verizon, Samsung, Vodaphone, CNN, BMW, Ford, Oracle, Intel, IBM, Federal
Express and Panasonic. Leaders such as Microsoft, Sony and Hasbro have also licensed GestureTek
software for their gaming products.
