TORONTO, CANADA – Dec. 2005 – GestureTek, the world leader in interactive immersive entertainment, has received the “2005 Best New Product Award for Technology Applied to Amusements” from IAAPA, the largest international trade association for permanently situated amusement facilities worldwide. IAAPA represents over 5,000 facility, supplier, and individual members from more than 90 countries. GestureTek’s Gesture Analysis and Control Engine, part of GestureTek’s GroundFX™, Gesture Xtreme, and GestTrack system product lines, won first place from IAAPA, for it’s application to amusement experiences.

GestureTek’s GroundFX system projects dynamic visual content onto virtually any floor or wall space and creates a full body interactive experience, literally allowing users to "control" an ad or game with their body motions . Gesture Xtreme puts the live, real-time video image of the user in the game, right on the screen; and lets them interact with the surrounding virtual world. Like in Minority report, GestTrack lets users point at a screen from a distance and control the content with gestures.

“GestureTek is pleased that its Gesture Control Engine has received this recognition from IAAPA. Although. GestureTek has already installed well over 1000 GX immersive installation at location based entertainment facilities around the world the new amusement applications Gesturetek is creating today still seem like they are coming from 50 years in the future,” Said Vincent John Vincent, co-founder and president of GestureTek.

GestureTek’s amusement products have turned out to be excellent money makes for their owners. More than 50 party rental / special event companies have been making a good earnings as Gesture Xtreme systems have proven to be a big hit at all types of parties.

GestureTek has just released its new Arcade Unit call the Voyager HoloPod Arcade unit based on the Gesture Xtreme system where participants are virtually beamed to the destination of their choice to challenge their skills.

GroundFX systems with plenty of engaging sports titles are popping up at stadiums and arenas across North America as free sponsored interactive games for the public.

GroundFX, Gesture Xtreme and GestTrack are also employed in retail stores/malls, trade shows, and museums as infortainment experienceas because they are so fun and engaging. Earlier this month, Epson announced installations of the GestureTek GroundFX™ system in Virgin Megastore locations, including the largest entertainment store in the world, the Times Square, New York City Virgin Megastore, and the newly opened, Hollywood & Highland, California Megastore.
