TORONTO, CANADA – Dec. 2005 – GestureTek, the world leader in interactive immersive entertainment, has received the “2005 Best New Product Award for Technology Applied to Amusements” from IAAPA, the largest international trade association for permanently situated amusement facilities worldwide. IAAPA represents over 5,000 facility, supplier, and individual members from more than 90 countries. GestureTek’s Gesture Analysis and Control Engine, part of GestureTek’s GroundFX™, Gesture Xtreme, and GestTrack system product lines, won first place from IAAPA, for it’s application to amusement experiences.

GestureTek’s GroundFX system projects dynamic visual content onto virtually any floor or wall space and creates a full body interactive experience, literally allowing users to "control" an ad or game with their body motions . Gesture Xtreme puts the live, real-time video image of the user in the game, right on the screen; and lets them interact with the surrounding virtual world. Like in Minority report, GestTrack lets users point at a screen from a distance and control the content with gestures.

“GestureTek is pleased that its Gesture Control Engine has received this recognition from IAAPA. Although. GestureTek has already installed well over 1000 GX immersive installation at location based entertainment facilities around the world the new amusement applications Gesturetek is creating today still seem like they are coming from 50 years in the future,” Said Vincent John Vincent, co-founder and president of GestureTek.
